Chopped

I woke up yesterday and put my hair, that hadn't been washed in 3 days, back in a greasy pony-tail and left the house. I do this every day. The pony-tail is God's gift to lazy women. My hair was about bra strap length in back, which is the longest it has been since I got married many years ago.

Doesn't it look like a hot mess? I can't even blame the seaside humidity on the mess that is/was my hair. So yesterday as I was driving to work I passed my hair salon and decided it was time to get a haircut. They had an appointment open later in the afternoon so I booked it.

As Evie was taking her nap, I decided to look at some shorter styles that would make it more difficult to default to the pony-tail. As I was looking, I was noticing all of these really short styles that were really cute. I've never had exceptionally short hair, but it's always appealed to me. After about 10 seconds of thought, I knew it was time to make the big cut. I found some short styles I liked and set off for the salon. My hair lady has done my hair since third grade was so excited to be taking my hair to a new place. The first cut took off about 8 inches of hair! After that there was a lot more cutting and razoring until I was left with my most favorite cut ever! It's super short and sassy! The best thing is, it takes about 5 minutes to style AND it looks like I made an effort.

Here is the result! I love it!
If you've considered the big chop, JUST DO IT!

  1. Love it! I just got two haircuts in one week... shorter and then shorter, but not that brave yet. I think I'm going to take the plunge in about a month! Robert will kill me if I go for another haircut this soon :)
