It's August 1, and I'm back at my desk at the family business. It's time to get back into a routine, and begin settling in.
** Colorado is a NO go. **
We were unable to accept the offer they made. I know Stephen REALLY wanted to move us out there, but we just couldn't make it work. Maybe when Evie is school-age, and I can commit to going back to work full time, it will be an option. So,
** We are putting our house on the market on November 1. **
We need to be in a bigger house. We're in a 3/2 right now, and it's just not working anymore. Our living room doubles serves as a living room, dining room, and game room. We're just on top of each other. We desperately need to get in to a house with more space. Who knew one kid could make a house seem so small? We've got lots of projects to do between now and November to get our house sale ready. Hopefully it won't sit on the market too long, and we'll be in a new (to us) house by January or February.
** Evie is a busy bee. **
This is not new information, but it continues to be the way it goes. She's walking, running, climbing, dancing from the minute she wakes up everyday. She isn't talking as much as I'd thought she would be at nearly 18 months. She says bah (ball), bow, baby, boo (book), hi, bye-bye, dada, momma (only when she's po'd or hurt), nana, papa, puppy, and some other indecipherable words. I wonder when she'll take off and start talking more? She has a Dr. appointment on Aug. 26. Hopefully this isn't a concern. Evie starts school on Sept. 4. She'll go on Wednesdays and Fridays. I'm really looking forward to this because Evie will not let me leave her with people she doesn't know right now. It's made taking her to the gym impossible. Hopefully after a few weeks in school, she'll figure out that I can leave. I'm coming back, goober!
** Stephen is almost 30! **
We're going on a trip to celebrate this milestone next weekend. I've never gone so far away from Evie before, but I am leaving her in very capable hands. We're going to the Niagara Falls area of New York for 4 days. While we're there we'll catch the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen too. Score!
Stay tuned for more updates later. My ADD has caught up with me, and I don't want to type anymore.
I'm selfishly glad you'll be here at least a little longer. We need to get together soon! You will LOVE Niagara! It was fabulous two years ago on the history grant.
