Before Baby:
- I will not spend $22 on a Sofie.
- I will not give our baby prescription meds.
- I will not give our baby juice.
- I will let our baby cry it out.
- I will not let the pets get too close.
- I will not use "hippy" products.
- I'm not going to let our baby sleep on her tummy.
After Baby:
- I'd spend $50 on any toy that makes E happy.
- I'll give E any medicine that makes her feel better.
- I'll give E juice if it's what she needs to feel better.
- It physically pains me to hear E cry. If patting her on the back is all it takes to calm her down, I'm thrilled to assist her in settling down.
- Our pets are family. They love E as much as we do. I will not deny E or the pets a relationship with each other.
- I am going to switch over to fabric wipes at home using California Baby Diaper Area Spray. While I'm not brave enough to switch to cloth diapers, I'm eager to reduce some of our waste by cutting back on wipes.
- The child cannot sleep on her back. She is most relaxed on her tummy. She's at her happiest that way. Awake or asleep. I use a monitor, and I have infant first aide training. We have a tummy sleeper. We all sleep just fine.
Advice to Mommies:
Do not hold tight to your convictions if they keep your baby from being healthy, happy and comfortable. Sacrifice your hang-ups and just do what is best for your little one. In 18 years they won't hold it against you if if you did things different. Throw the rule book away, and enjoy your baby. Treasure their happiness!
