Finally Blooming

This day, last month, we got the phone call that changed our lives! Since then God has been blessing me with new lessons and realizations every day!

Several YEARS ago, when we began the adoption process, we took the time to work on the landscaping before our home study. Obviously since then, we haven't done crap to maintain it. At the time we planted a few plants and most of them thrived until a hard freeze destroyed them. Among the plants we chose, we planted an oleander in the flower bed in front of what we hoped would someday be a nursery. This oleander has spent the last 3+ years looking exactly the same as the day we planted it. There were no blooms on it. It was just a few branches of leaves that never went away or grew any further.

Fast forward to almost a month ago...

I was in Evie's room getting things organized when I noticed some splashes of color coming through the blinds. I thought it was just the sunlight reflecting off the gazing ball, but I thought I'd check it out just in case. Take a look at what I saw!

Blossoms!!

How miraculous it is that it took the same amount of time for this plant to bloom as it did for us to adopt!
This may not seem cool to you at all, but it's pretty wild to us! Many of you only check the blog to see Evie now, so here's a new picture of her in milk coma.
