Change Is The New Black

A few weeks ago, Stephen made the decision to begin looking for a new job. This was not an easy decision for him to make because he LOVES his coworkers. They've rallied behind us through some very difficult years. They were overjoyed when we finally brought Evie home. He knew what he was hoping for when he began looking and within a week one of those opportunities found him. After a phone interview he was scheduled for an official interview. He left the interview hoping that this would be it. The next day they made an offer Stephen couldn't refuse. As excited as he was about this new job, he quickly realized how difficult it was going to be to say goodbye to his coworkers. With a heavy heart, he walked into his boss' office and had that tough conversation. His boss was very excited and supportive but sad to see him leaving. His last day is Oct. 18. He starts his new job on Oct. 21.

Evie had her first tear free day at school on Friday. It felt amazing to be able to drop her off without hearing her cry when I left. Hopefully she's gotten to the point where she knows and enjoys her teachers enough to part with me. I'm so glad that she is spending regular time with kids her age now. I don't want her to be one of "those" weird only children who is as socially awkward as her momma! ;-)

In light of Stephen's new job, we made the decision to move. We're going to give Stephen a couple of months to get going in his new job before we put the sign in the yard. Hopefully after Christmas we can get it on the market and start looking for a house with more space and a larger backyard. That gives us a couple of months to get the house ready to sell. It's a hot mess right now.
