We saw a new pediatrician yesterday. I love her nurse. She was great with Evie. Evie has really mastered "Hi!" and she was sweet enough to return the greeting about 5 times. The doctor is pretty cut and dry, not very personable, but very efficient. We were in and out in under an hour which was unheard of with our previous pediatrician. We never made it out of a well-baby appointment in less than an hour and a half. The doctor was really pleased with Evie's development. The only concern she had was that Evie does not point at things. Seems weird to me. I don't point so she couldn't have seen it done, but doctor says it's usually instinctual. We'll have to work on modeling that I suppose. Doctor didn't say anything about Evie's weight, but did say we could go ahead and move her over to 2% milk instead of whole.
Birthday
We held Evie's party on Saturday. It was a lot of work, but I was really proud of it. We did a sweetheart theme since I doubt Evie will want her parties to be Valentine's oriented when she is old enough to have an opinion. We had about 60 people attend her party. She received a lot of wonderful gifts including many donations to her college fund! Her birthday was bitter sweet to me. One the one hand I was thrilled to celebrate her first year and the day she was born, but on the other hand I was a bit sad that we were celebrating an anniversary of a milestone that I wasn't present at. I'm hoping that this feeling of loss diminishes with time. Ok, enough of my sob story. Evie had a ball at her party. She scarfed her cake down and enjoyed playing with her little friends.

don't worry about the pointing thing. Brax still rarely ever points. He just gets stuff himself or I can read into what he wants before he has to point!! I'm sure you're the same way with Evie :-)
