I'm On Strike

No more road trips for us for quite a while. While the trips we take are fun and memorable, I am just flat worn out. I can actually see E thinking, "Not this thing again..." when I put her in the car seat. Sorry baby girl, it's for yor own good. Please don't grow up and refuse to wear a seat belt.

This past weekend, we went down to Granny J's house to celebrate my mom's childhood church turning 60 years old. This may seem like a stretch, but growing up we would spend weeks during the summers at that church, running the halls and attending VBS. I grew up playing at the homes of my Granny J's church friends. It was really nice to be back there. I got to see some familiar faces and smell some familiar smells. I am very sensory, y'all.

My mom and dad were married in this church.
In 1969 the church burned down. This is a recovered door.
Snuggling with Auntie Em on a couch that used to be in my grandparent's house.
Mom visiting with some long time PCUMC friends.
Lil E and I taking it all in.

Also on this trip we got in some time to enjoy ourselves an relax. E seemed to really enjoy the adventures of sitting in a high chair, getting sloppy kisses and even a road side diaper change... which I do not recommend. Total MisAdventure!
Look how cool I am!
My closest parking job. Ever.
Ma, quit smoochin' on me!
Sadly while were were there we also attended a funeral of a longtime family friend. Long story short, it was my uncle's dad, my cousin's grandfather who passed. Being from a small town, the in-laws became friends and I've known them my whole life. The church was jammed packed for the memorial. After hearing about his life and priorities, I did not find it surprising at all that the place was so crowded. He certainly touched a lot of lives, and he will leave a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. I just hope at the end of my days, that I'll be able to pass on the same desires and passion to my loved ones.

Today is Stephen's 29th birthday! He's getting a new putter to commemorate his last year in his 20s. Once I get over the crud, I'm hoping he and I can have a date night to celebrate his 29th year. Speaking of crud, E and I both have it. It's a snot circus up in here. Oh well, we're making the best of it.

Today E is 6 months old! How is she already halfway through her first year?! Yikes! E has her 6 month appointment tomorrow. I'll post stats and photos after we go to the doctor.
