We often quote Family Guy amongst our family and friends. Our most commonly used phrase is "Say Whaaat?" with the inflection you'll hear in the video below.
A lot of times we'll use this after someone says something crazy or relays a story that elicits jaw drops. Most recently we had a pretty shocking "Saw Whaaat?" moment. Stephen I were walking through the mall and a woman walks up to us and with a completely straight face asked us, "Is she adopted?" After I realized she wasn't kidding, we replied that yes she was adopted and kept walking. After a smack to my forehead (should have had a V8 style) we looked at each other and I said, "Say Whaaat?"
I'm not sure what's worse, stupid or ignorant? What do you think?
To me I think people asking questions like that will always occur, no matter what. i like the "yes" and keep walking response.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I am just to sensitive on this issue, but I thinks it's ignorance. What other conclusion could a total stranger come to when they see you and Stephen out with Evie? Ignorant, because it's obvious that she isn't your biological child! A simple, "Your daughter is beautiful" is all that any stranger needs to offer!
