Yielding is something I am working very hard on right now. I don't mean yielding in traffic, though that is certainly important, but yielding in my speech, actions, thoughts, assumptions, and so forth. It is so easy to act brazenly when you don't stop and process before you react. It's easy to react in the heat of the moment, but I think it's more import to yield. I'm working on saying less, taking the time to think and pray about it, before I respond. Then at least, you'll be able to be clear headed in your actions.
This is an area of weakness for me and many others. Our human nature is to preserve ourselves when we are feeling attacked, and yielding means doing the opposite. It's going to be a long lesson for me to learn, but I am going to keep working at it.
Psalm 19:14
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
