Easter Recap & Current State

Our office had Good Friday off, so I took the opportunity to go visit the school I used to work at. It was great spending time with my former co-workers. While I do not miss teaching often, I always miss the wonderful people I taught with. I do catch myself with the itch to work with children occasionally. Just as soon as the desire hits me, my decision to resign is reinforced by a news story or screaming child. Friday night we went over to my aunt's house for a shrimp/fish fry. It was nice to have the whole gang together for an evening. I don't get to see my cousins very often, so it was nice to visit with them and be near them.

Saturday I got a massage while Stephen went golfing. Afterwards I layed out by the pool, dyed Easter Eggs, and enjoyed dinner at Mom and Dad's.

Sunday morning my Mom, Dad, Sister, and Granny all came to worship with us at our church. I was so honored to have them attend our church! They are members of a different Christian denomination, and I know how personal worship styles are to each individual. I was very grateful they were willing to step outside their comfort zone and spend time at our church. I was so touched to have them beside us on Easter morning. After church we did Easter baskets with my family before heading over to Stephen's grandparents for lunch. After lunch we went back to my parent's house to lay out by the pool and eat dinner. Before heading home we swung by Stephen's parent's house to visit and celebrate my birthday (belated). They got me a beautiful NIV Study Bible with my name engraved on the front. It is awesome! I took it with me to my last week of Bible Study on Monday evening.

Yesterday my cousin gave birth to the first Great-GrandDaughter! Her name is Ada Marie, and she is just beautiful. Mother & Ada are both doing very well and are expected to go home tomorrow. I am so thrilled for their new family of three, and absolutely jealous of the dreamy life they are now living! Stephen and I will get to wrap our arms around Ada the first weekend in June. I cannot wait!

I have a work event tonight, so I'm in for a really long day. This weekend I am headed to the lake for some fishing and my best friend's baby shower. Stephen is staying behind on doggy-duty.

Continue to pray for patience with God's plans for our lives and desire for a child.
