Welcome February... Hello Snow?

The crisis in Egypt directly affects my friend Marie. She is a first grade teacher at the school I used to teach at. She married a man from Egypt and his family still lives there. They live a short distance away from the PRESIDENTIAL Palace. Please pray for their safety and for the unrest in Egypt to end peacefully and soon.

This weekend we are headed to Austin/San Antonio to visit family and friends. Thursday night we’re going to Austin to visit Stephanie & Hayden. Friday afternoon we’re headed to San Antonio for a Baby Shower. My cousin Lauren lives in North Carolina and is 28 weeks pregnant, so they are having their baby shower now while she can still travel to Texas where most of the family is.

The weather is being super silly this week. There’s even a chance of snow - - CRAZY!

I’ve been holding onto a lot of frustration the past few days. I can’t seem to let go of things as easily as I would like. I keep reminding myself of the words of Psalm 25: 17-18. “The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. Look upon my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.” The first part of that verse forces me to realize that I let things get a grip on me and become bigger than they actually are. I’m sure I’m not the only one who struggles with this, but I am going to make a great effort to overcome this shortcoming.

Things are good for us. February looks to be a pretty slow month after our trip this weekend. We’re going to get some new pictures taken on February 19. It’ll be nice to update some dated picture frames.

Everyone take care and stay warm!

  1. Isn't it amazing how that ancient book has words we need. God sure did us a favor.
