1. Christian Chicken
I read an article about Chick-Fil-A's convictions about traditional biblical marriage. I normally don't post about politics or "hot topics" on the blog, but I thought I'd share a couple of my immediate reactions to this article.
I think it's fabulous that we live in a country where businesses have the freedom to choose to be very open with their religious beliefs.
I think it's sad that people bash others for their beliefs whether they agree with them or not. You're not going to win anyone over to your side by being hateful. This goes both ways.
Do I eat at Chick-Fil-A? Yes.
Will I continue to eat at Chick-Fil-A? Yes.
Do I agree with every choice and statement Chick-Fil-A makes? No.
2. Adoption Decisions
I am pretty confident that at this point I can say that we will not be pursuing another infant adoption unless there was a situation where Evie had a bio sibling needing placement. What we are willing to consider is adopting another older child. Right now we are sponsoring a boy in Haiti to begin learning about the needs of the children living in Tent City and the orphanages near there. There are a few other options for us to consider, but I am feeling a heavy pull to continue looking into adopting a boy from Haiti.
3. Church
I am feeling pretty disenchanted with the modern, popular church. I'm getting the impression that these mega churches with the smoke machines, big screens, and latest technology could do a lot more with their influence if they put their money where their mouths are. Just sayin'. I blame the Hatmakers.
