This has only happened twice since Evie came home, but it is a story worth sharing.
Last night I went to a Girls Night Out (GNO) with a few friends and my sister. When I came home I thanked hubby for doing Mr. Mom duty while I was out. I then proceeded to do the normal bedtime ritual for Evie. I was nervous putting her down because on Monday night, she woke up twice instead of her usual one time. As I laid her down I said my usual prayer that she have a restful night sleep and thanked God for our many blessings. I closed the door and went to get in bed. The next thing I knew I heard her on the monitor. "Stephen, what time is it?" "After 5" "((PANIC))What?! Has she already been up once?!" "No, this is it." A while passed and then she cried out. Stephen went and fed and changed her. He was back in bed 15 minutes later. Evie slept until 8:50am after her 5:45 bottle. It was delightful. We're calling it a full night of sleep since she slept from 10:20p-5:45a. That's more than 7 hours folks.
I've gotten so used to her schedule that it startles me when she deviates. Only, a 7 hour stretch is a welcome change to her usual schedule.
Now if only that could happen EVERY night. Quick knock on some wood! :)
GNO was lovely last night. It is always so nice to be able to share my victories and struggles with girlfriends. We're all going through seasons of change right now, so it's become more important than ever before to lean on each other.
