Every Day I'm Shufflin'

And now,
I present a full length blog post about the happenings in our world.

Work:
I'm working M-Th 7:30a-4p and Friday 7:30am-11:30am. Stephen works M-F 7a-6p.  Sometimes Stephen gets off work early on Fridays, but more often than not he works full days every day.  Work at my office greatly varies.  It can be quiet for a morning, then in the afternoon it's like a hurricane of crazy descends on the office.  Keeps it spicy around here!  Stephen is very busy with his projects at work.  I don't pretend to understand the inner workings of the oil and gas industry, but it doesn't seem to be slowing down for my husband.

Home:
Thankfully the mosquito infestation has not carried our house away... yet.  There has been a terrible outbreak of these little monsters in our area.  We have a lot of things we'd like to do in the yards, but I don't see how that's going to happen now.  The mosquitoes do not respond to OFF, foggers, or even the more intense chemical sprays.  I'm guessing that this weekend we'll turn our efforts to the inside of our house unless the mosquitoes magically disappear.  We've recently refinished our bathroom cabinets.  With the exception of a few touch ups, that project is done.  The next thing we'll do is have Dad come over and measure for new bathroom countertops.  After we get new countertops, we'll paint the bathrooms before moving on to the kitchen.

Play:
If you look at the post beneath this one, you will see photos from our recent camping trip.  We had such a wonderful time, that we have already booked our next trip for November 25-27.  In the next few weeks we are very busy.  Between volunteering, NASCAR, play rehearsals (more on that in a bit),Washington DC trip, plays, Thanksgiving, and camping - we are almost always on the move.  Since September I've been assisting with rehearsals for a community theater's Christmas play.  It has been wildly educational, and I'm really confident the play will be well received.  I'm still learning about the duties of the "line-caller", but I really hope I have been helpful.  I'm still involved with KB.  I enjoy being on their board and supporting the organization.  KB does a lot for the community, and I'm happy I can be a part of that.  I'm doing my first volunteer gig for a local animal advocacy group this Saturday.  It's the same group that we adopted Maxi through!  We've been so blessed by adopting him, that I felt it entirely necessary to support the other kittens/puppies just as awesome as Maxi that need to find homes.  I've always loved animals so I figured it was time I actually tried to help. I'd like to take all the animals home with me, but I don't think Stephen would like that.  So, we'll try and find some homes for the animals in the shelter this weekend.  It occurs to me that there are only 4 days in November that we don't have something on the calendar.  Amazing!

Bible Study/Church:
Oh how I am loving this week's bible study topic!  It is all about feeling invisible or ignored.  What a relevant topic to every woman!  I can't wait to see where this week takes me, and what the Lord says about feeling this way.  I'm certain I'm going to learn a lot.  Our Sunday School class is learning about making good choices and how to make things better when you mess up.  Every message we give our first graders somehow touches me as well.  I suppose you're never to old to hear the most basic of truths.

Prayer Requests:
-Comfort for the Mayer Family for the loss of their matriarch
-Give thanks for the arrival of a girlfriend's first child
-Safe travels in the weeks to come
-Bring people together to see the Christmas play
-Women facing unplanned pregnancies to consider adoption

I hope to be able to update more regularly now that we'll have a computer at home.  If you're suffering from Shelley withdrawls between posts, follow me on Twitter @Shell_Whizz.
